One thing about spores of mycorrhizae and similar products:
if you start early enough, you only need a little bit for each
plant.

I have some MycoGrow Soluble left from last year, and what
I have done is measure it out with a tiny measuring spoon
that holds about half-a-pea's worth of whatever is in it (came
in a set of tiny measuring spoons with quantities like "pinch,
dash, smidgen," and so on). Then I sprinkle that over the roots
of a seedling when potting up the first time.

It will populate the root system and grow right along with it,
and that should be all that the plant needs for the whole
season.

If I were inoculating thousands of seedlings, this would probably
be too time-intensive, and I would either mix it into the
container mix that I was using or mix it with water and water
it in after potting them up instead.

Dusting it on the seeds when starting them would need even
less per plant, but my initial watering is with a mild hydrogen
peroxide solution, which would probably kill off the beneficial
fungi and bacteria as soon as they hatched. By the time that
I am potting up from seed starting cells to larger pots, the
hydrogen peroxide has all reacted with other materials in the
seed-starting mix and is no longer an issue.

I have one of these unused: Injector / Baster

I think I'll use it to get to the root of the problem with some Mycorrhiza.

Hmmm. I do have access to an injector and since I can't give any shots for a while I can throw down a plant and shoot them up!!!! Considering I have 46 tomato plants in the ground. Just waiting on my order of Mycogrow to come in. I have not planted out the peppers yet, I am waiting for it to come in so I can get their roots done.

Start calling Kat "Dr. Feelgood" but a good idea for plants already in the ground. One reason I'm sold on biodegradable pots (CowPots and Dot Pots) is you can mix your bio's in water and prior to planting, soak the potted plant in the solution for 30 seconds, let drain and plant. Done deal. Last year I did this with Actinovate and then did the Dice trick with a measure designated "just a pinch" and sprinkled the outside of the CowPot which was still wet from the dip with Myco powder and planted.
This year I have Myco soluable and SubCulture-M which I will add to the water along with Actinovate and use this solution to dip my CowPotted plants in prior to plant out. Getting excited just thinking about it. Ami

I can hit a moving target with three shots in just a few seconds! I can also hit a moving target with a foley cath. I have skills, just not what most people consider handy. And up to this point none that would help me in the garden.
I checked and the MycoGrow was sent out yesterday USPS. Should not take too long. Next day off is Thursday so hopefully it will come in then. I am very excited. My soil is still in the horrible stage but getting some better. I found one earth worm. It is all sand except the compost and other things I have added over past 3 years. Maybe 3 more years and I will have a good soil and earthworms. This might give the plants a fighting chance!

Kat, just pick up some bioferts to supplement till you get your soil built up. Ami

MycoGrow soluble arrived today and a new gardening center opens on Thursday in our city. Snow is finally melting and I noticed spring flowering bulbs peeking green in my flower bench. I am ready for spring!!!

All right svalli. So it made it through the postal system and customs with no problems. Ami
