Default What's slashing my plants?

I keep finding insect damage on my potato leaf varieties that almost look like slash marks. Usually I find circular caterpillar chew holes, so this is new to me.

Any idea what little creature is snacking on my plants? And the best deterrent? I'm currently using Captain Jack's Deadbug Brew (spinosad) but I also have some BT on hand. Thank you!
