i love those, especially in the glass bottle. Alas my No. County adventures are somewhat scarce. I commuted up there for a while, and yesterday brought back memories of boredom mostly. Going to Restaurant Row to kill time so the 78 would cool off and I could drive home. It amazes me how poorly designed that highway really is. I guess they never planned for the current demographics.

Winter newborns. Have a few others that are 3 weeks old.

I dont think you are as old as me but my experience was much better as far as traffic out there.

In the 70's we could drive from Oceanside to the Orange county drag strip to see Big Daddy Don race at 50 to 60 miles and hour.
That was us Big Daddy was running at around 270.
I cant say enough good about Don Garlits, what a great guy I have met him many times in Texas and California.
That was back in the days you could get up close and the engines were in front.
The blowers would sometimes blow off and go 50 feet in the air or more.
This might be the pictuer were he lost part of his foot and caused him to come up with rear engines.

The best part about California to me was drag racing.

You're right Worth, I should have qualified it by saying the 78 in the vicinity of the 15. The stretch closer to the 5 is reminiscent of the 280 up in the Bay Area.

I've been to the IHOP exactly once-nothing in Restaurant Row seems appealing. But I really like the Green Thumb nursery across from RR.

I love going to the drags. Before my water worker days i built top fuel dragsters and funny cars for a good while. Worked on and built cars for many a famous race car drivers. Matter of fact it was my dream job and i hated to leave it. But better pay, heath insurance, and retirement was more important to my family than my dream. I still dabble a bit on hot rods and custom fab jobs but someday i will get to do what i love again.

Default update on fall---> winter plants

Happy Turkey day to all. A light rain today, so no shorts and T-shirt like last year.

Top view of Danko, Odoriko, and Alcara Pink in and around a CRW oval. EB hit 'em hard. 1st fruits on Odoriko starting to blush.

Alternate view of some of the same players.

Danko. Earlier two plants were hit with BER. Switched to plastic growbag instead of fabric pot and BER is no more.

G. Altai. Good-great fruit set.

Copper River. Sturdy plant, good fruit set, orbs keep growing.

Green Tiger. A bit frail. Great fruit set.

Manö I like this one. Looking forward to taste.

Mt. Magic. Has been chugging along since February, what you see is maybe a third of the tomatoes on the plant. Productivity is impressive.

Pearls of Wisdom. I like these long types. What is this crane configuration called? Long peduncle with ....?

Jealous!!! I can only dream for next year! I grew Green Tiger and Lucky Tiger and initially thought they were going to die on me but they grew like crazy and produced a ton of tomatoes, but the stems are frail and yet bend and wind themselves all over the place without breaking!
Nice photos, Gerardo. Keep them coming!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Wish I was back in the states so I could celebrate!

I think the Pink Eggs taste a lot better when you let them turn red. It took me a while to figure that out.

Good to know they'll hang on and keep producing. I'll keep snapping away.

Yeah. I'll wait them out, that plant sure is good at producing truss after truss maxed out on eggs. Gonna be a tasty tomato xmas. BTW, your town was mentioned on NPR as the site of an Alpaca rescue operation.
