Former disdain for these, however... I have read about 15 books on Kindle for iPad and have come around. Great for reading, imnsho. Especially on vacations where you can take as many books as you want.

Just a note, you can easily organize and read ebooks with a free program called Calibre, visit calibre-ebook.com. It reads everything and can even run as an ebook library server. You can also edit and convert them to various formats through calibre, what may require stripping the drm (also possible through calibre with the addition of the appropriate plugin).
Amazon won't let you download a book except through their application, but after that it's easy to just find the .azw files on your computer and import them to calibre to mess around. With the way amazon sometimes seizes people's entire purchase libraries it might not be a bad idea to back up your stuff anyway. |
