Default Pleased with the Dona F1

Here is what you want to see on a truss - three 1 pound+ fruits. This is the Dona F1, a French hybrid. Excellent producer for me here in Atlanta.

Just curious about your source of seeds.

Shepherds was listing it and then said they couldn't get it anymore and then someone stepped up and said he was going to France and could get seeds there, bring them back and offer them here.

Were you that person Scott?

I purchased the seeds in Paris at Vilmorin at 6 Quai de la Mégisserie, which is right in Chatelet.

I haven't offered them here, but could spare a few. Unfortunately, they are F1.

Then it was someone else that I was thinking of b/c that person bought several seed packs and made an offer here at Tville.

Whatever.I grew it many years ago and thought it was very good.

This may help

I bought a couple packets last year and offered them here at Tomatoville. From the same place in Paris. I'll offer some more in the winter.

I am very excited about Dona F1 as well. It has been an unusually hot summer here, as it has been in many areas. I am growing two plants in different gardens, one in full sun and one in part shade. Both have multiple large fruits as well. Neighboring plants with large fruits are succumbing to tiny black bugs in the fruit, but Dona F1 has no bugs or blemishes.

I would like to hear from others growing this in a less than perfect season. My seed source was from Tville. From memory, I believe 5 seeds were included in the last MMMM Swap, and I was thrilled to start them. Would grow again, but weather here is a "crap shoot" over the past few years with drought or endless rain in play. If it doesn't match expectations, oh well at least I experienced a great year this time.

Thank you, thank you ever so much since I knew someone had offered seeds here at Tville.

I'm comforted knowing that brain rot has yet to appear, at least in my opinion.
