Disease Hitting Earthbox Plants - From the soil or the air?
We always struggle with some mold issues on tomatoes here due to the evening fog, so I tend to prune hard to promote air flow. Daytime highs are 70s, and growing in EBs over asphalt brings that up to the 80s for the tomatoes.
This year it feels like I have an unusual amount of leaf death. I'm not seeing spots or circles, but trusses will shrivel and die, while new growth is green. Anyone seen this before? It feels like I'm constantly chasing it. This year it took out all of my dwarf plants after transplant full stop. They grew to height but went nowhere. Even the fruit turned a weird brown green color. All of these boxes had new Edna's best potting mix in it, so I'm scratching my head on this one. Fungal? Spores in the air? Here are my Virginia sweets: And a leaf close up: They just turn brownish, crisp up and die. I am using "the snack" to fight BER every ten days or so, and I put a 4-6-4 down the hole once a month. |

And by the way, this is just severe cat facing on my first lovely Pruden's Purple, right? I've never gotten one with the hole in the middle before.
And yes, it's on the Pruden's Purple leaves too. |

Are some of the stems looking bronze rather than green? If so, check out this thread.
