Cowpeas are really en vogue here now, since they're one of the few legume varieties that give a decent crop in our climate. They are pushed everywhere as local ecological choice, and I have tried, believe me. No matter how well prepared, they are awful.. with the hulls or without.
They give me a massive stomach ache!
Too bad that chick peas do not grow well here, I have to buy them imported.. But they sure taste good!
