Default Weed control

I wasn't sure where to post this. I just wanted to get some information on pre-emergents like Preen. I used it in a flower bed last year and it worked great. I am wondering if it is safe to use around vegetable.

Tyff,
My recollection is that pre-emergents such as Preen are not considered a risk in use around veggies, as the nature of activity is limited to just a few inches above and below the actual chemical application area. Although, we were also required in Cali to use gloves and respirators when using any such chemical.

For the record, I do not use any such chemicals in my veggie garden as I do not fully trust the assurances that these chemicals are safe.

So is Corn Gluten the main ingredient? I thought Tri-something which is a listed ingredient is a chemical. Where can I buy just plain corn gluten?

Thanks,
Tyff

I'm off to the garage to look get the word Tri-something so I can look it up.

Tyff
The stuff that I found was the organic vegetable weed control.
If you want to use the other stuff then just google the product name and then after that MSDS and you should get results.
BEWARE of using ANY weed killing chemical on or around something you plan to eat.
((((((AND you could kill your plants.)))))
I don't see the corn gluten doing any harm though.
