What is this Bush?
These bushes were planted in 1990. I used to know the name of them, but none of us can remember anymore. The barn in the picture is 11' tall. I'm hoping to get some more started from cuttings. It is an evergreen, and the leaves are slightly waxy.

I have no idea what it is, but those flowers are gorgeous!
Do they smell as good as they look? |

Yes, they smell wonderful.
There are literally hundreds of small bees, red wasps, yellow jackets, and bumblebees in and around them. The bees have never bothered/stung anyone passing by. |

They have been largely replaced by "cleyera" which has few disease and pest problems. Glad yours are doing well. |

mouka, I agree.
Chapinz8, I'm sorry about your plants. These plants grow on their own. No fertilizer or anything. It seems they like the Texas heat. In the summer months, they are chock full of healthy green leaves. What really made us curious about these plants is that we never see them in others' yards around here. I need to find out more about them. Especially, how to start new plants from cuttings or however it is done. Again, Thank You decherdt. |
