They are looking amazing, a red snow pea is just what my wok has been missing. Although being one of the few who grow their own soup peas a red would make for a beautiful pea patch. As a bonus I could just aim for the red bullseye when threshing Keep up the great work and can't wait to see how this project progresses.

Red podded peas in a wok would need the right sauce: Something with a bit of vinegar or acid to retain the red color during cooking.

Here's what one of the first pea pods looked like yesterday. Still too soon to tell if it's mange tout.

Today I was visiting a different field where these peas are growing, and I noticed some with huge flowers. Sorry about the poor quality photo.

The peas in the warmer field are maturing nicely. There are lots of edible-pod peas showing up. I've been tasting pods from each plant as they mature. The peas in the cooler field are just starting to form pods. I've been doing manual cross pollinations between the red-podded peas and dwarf common garden shelling peas.

Joseph's Red-podded are podding up now. Here are some of the first photo's. This first one must not have complete purple coloring genes, it is only partially red and partially yellow, but looks like it might be a snow type.

This second one is showing more red color earlier and should be a good one. Still early to tell, but i think this plant might be the best one in my crop. Today it appears like it may even be a snap pea, but not sure.

About 8 plants in my warmer field produced red edible-podded peas. I aughta make time this week to walk through the colder field and taste pods from each plant.
