Default home made wheel hoe

I had wanted a wheel hoe for a while but didn't want to shell out the big bucks. Just how strong must it be? could I make it of hardwood and some metal? Yes I could. I used hard maple for the body and handles, copied the handles off of an old planet jr planter. used a back wheel from a defunct push type lawnmower and bought 5 long 1/4 inch bolts to hold it together also bought a 1/8 inc thick 1 inch wide and 3 foot long flat bar steel to make the hoe part. I only sharpened the part that would go below ground. The darn thing works darn good saving me quite a bit of labor and time. The best part it it only took less than $5 out of pocket money. Not counting the hardwood that we already had.
