Default Bee Balm

Just bought a Hummingbird feeder and a double hook metal hanger.I want to hang the feeder on one hook and a container with Bee Balm on the other. We use to see Hummingbirds when our neighbor had roses in her side yard.I want to bring them back around and thought this was a good way.I never have grown Bee Balm and see there is a smaller variety for containers.Any recommendations?

I have only grown bee balm in the ground. The red will spread readily, so I’ve planted a purple a ways away hoping it will do the same. I don’t know anything about a shorter variety for containers but would be interested in any information you have.

THere are many shorter monardas (bee balm) available and in many amazing colors. To name a few- the balmy series, the sugar buzz varieties, petite delight, Marshall’s delight, dwarf fireball, pardon my purple. I love them because the deer don’t.

Thanks, nancyruhl, for the particular varieties of shorter monardas. I've already checked 2 places here, but no one seems to think they exist! I will check other nurseries around to see, but may have to depend on catalogs for next year.
