Hi Al,
I started the Hardin's on Feb. 14. Yup, I grew an F1 cross I made under lights this winter. That trickle of home grown tomatoes all winter was great. Nan |

Here are my seedlings hardening off on the patio last weekend. I'm hoping to transplant them to the growing containers this weekend if the rain lets up.

I planted out in the RKN/Fusarium Wilt Race 3 Raised Gardens today. I planted those back in late January. Then I have these newborns tonight to go into Pro Mix filled containers with hydroponics fertilizers. Adjusting is part of the process. Or a last minute thought

KarenO, Nice green-leafy leaves in the photo above. What did you feed those tomato plants?

That is a microdwarf in a 4”pot in front of some bigger seedlings. Keep in mind rugosed dwarf foliage always looks dark green and robust. planted seed on January 23.
They are in promix with about 1/2 tsp epsom salt mixed in and fed weekly with 1/2 strength miracle grow all purpose soluble. It’s what I have found works best for seedlings while they are in pots indoors or in the greenhouse. They are also getting lots of good natural light, but little bright sun currently in my greenhouse. They started out under ordinary shop lights in the house. I have tried lots of different things but go back to the absolute reliability of this for my seedlings. Once out in the garden or big pots I use a combination of good potting mix, garden compost, composted manure, a bit of lime, granular slow release organic fertilizer and Epsom salts Not organic for seedlings, organic in the garden. A compromise that Works for me. KarenO Last edited by KarenO; March 25, 2018 at 01:09 AM. |

Technically mine aren't seedlings, but I'm proud of my first baby tomato of 2018. Plants have been in the ground for three weeks.

I see two potato leafed seedlings in menken's post on the previous page. What variety are they?
