Default heavy duty 12 mil reinforced

http://www.farmtek.com/farm/supplies...;pgcc4701.html
I am building a hoophouse and was curious if I can use this? I have heard good reports about it lasting as many as 10 years but that was from a cut flower grower. The hoophouse will be used year round for growing multiple crops. Was curious if the light transmission will be high enough as it's not listed.

Oops its 16 mil not 12, my mistake.

That stuff looks pretty good but expensive. I would guess the freight would be a pretty big bill too.

One of my local greenhouses in WI uses 30+ mil. Their tomatoes, peppers,.etc grow very well underneath. You should have no problem getting enough light. I think your problem will be getting enough ventilation/cooling in the sweltering heat of summer. I wouldn't count on the 16 mil lasting 10 years.

That stuff is pretty good. I would even use 6 MIL.
I have found a plave for the cheapest price but have not yet ordered .

discountvisqueen.com.

A 10" by 100" (=1000 sq-ft) costs $62.60. That is less than the cost of 6 mill plastic at HD.
