Karen, can I volunteer to grow these/any variety for you too? I would love to try them for you... (I love delicious pink cherries. Japanese Pink is my favorite so far. I tried pearly pink and what a waste. its beautiful and prolific but blah!)

[QUOTE=KarenO;713916]Oh my. I am overwhelmed with your generosity of praise Ted, coming from you this is high praise indeed and I am so excited that you enjoy it this much.
I have always thought it had big heirloom flavour in a small package and you know what? Goodvas it is, It’s not the best imo.

Well, between Marsha and you, I'm blushingly flattered. I'm no real food critic, but I do know what I like.

I agree with your assessment as well. Most folks do a test taste and base conclusions on that first impression. I like to close my eyes and feel the process. I would give my numeric rating at 8.5/10. Calibrate that with the fact that some of my most favorite flavors come from Henderson's Pink Ponderosa, Bulgarian Old Sort, and Tommy Toe Red. I do love the super sweet ones like Sun Gold F1, Cherokee Purple, and this year Grandma Oliver's Chocolate. I could also include Girl Girl's Weird Thing, Shadow Boxing Type 4, and so many others that the list would become boring.

Still, the thing that I feel is important is to close your eyes and focus on your tongue. One may find that something was missed because of a rush to swallow.

And, I would love to try the others and look forward to sending Marsha a request for them.

Take care.

That's great. I think you are going to likely get close to 100% germination.

It's always so fascinating to me to see how the same genetics, from plants grown from my seeds, give such variation depending on where/how grown. For me, Grandma Oliver's Chocolate wasn't very sweet, not bad, but not stellar. And KARMA Pink was super intensely sweet with a very good acid kick too, and I would rate it in the 9.3 range.

Should do Marsha, I only planted five, held back the other two incase I stuffed something up, but all looking good at this stage. Those two babies were still to straighten their stalks last night.

Default Just Can't Resist

Well, I thought about it and thought about it and just couldn't resist doing the golf ball thing with Karma Pink. These later fruits are certainly showing a bit of sweetness in the finish of the taste. Also, I think KP has a great counter time. It seems to get better with a little bit of "counter time".

For the record, a golf ball is 1.68 inches in diameter.

Default Baby Photo

Attached photo showing KARMA Pink seedlings on the right, along with some Bloody Butchers (middle) and Carbons (left). Think that the bent over one one the right front had some problem coming through, stem is squashed looking and I doubt if it will make it. Will be able to pass one onto folks and younger brother. May yet sow the extra two seeds that I held back to pass onto others.
