Default What type of ornamental?

Has anyone any idea of what type pepper this is. It was sold as an ornamental, but no tag to identify type/name. Possibly a bird pepper of some kind maybe?

Sorry, my friend, but I think you're wrong.

Purple Flash looks like this:

Notice the pale leaves. I kept thinking mine was getting sunburned, but that is how they are supposed to look.

I would guess the OP's pepper is Black Pearl, but that is just a guess.

You might be right.
Someone may have gotten their pictures or tags mixed up.

Purple Flash looks a lot like Mambo ...or somewhat like mambo.

Note the pearls.

Nice looking specimen, too.

Lastfling, try it partial shade. They do okay in full sun, but seen to prefer it without the full blowtorch effect of the summer sun.

The pearls ripen to red. I find them too seedy with a soapy taste, but they are edible.
