I wish him luck too...better luck next time as in fooling me or anyone else with his tales of "Ancient Watermelons" and such things.
First the big agriculture conglomerates decided to try and tell us what we can grow. Now a small company gets a bit if "luck" in the world and he/she is scientist with a world view we should listen to. And watermelons scams and such. I'm not afraid of buying seed from Baker Creek. I'm afraid of scams that make things up as they go. And there is definitely some political stuff in the watermelon stuff that I don't even wanna touch. I'd rather leave r/s/p discussions out of my garden. |

I ordered seeds from them for many years, until a few years ago when I placed an order that for some reason never arrived. The answer from their customer service was basically "too bad, but not our problem".
The seeds I did get from them until that point was fine though. Good germination and true to type/variety. |

Well, at least when you mix your politics with your business, you'll get about half the people to like you :-) Free shipping or free seeds, I'll pass, but thanks for the heads up.

This looks like another one of those threads that got way out of hand. The original post just announced that a seed seller had free shipping.
I'm having a glass of wine. Anyone care to join me? |

I will be happy to join you Mike. We can sit back and watch the same people do the same old things.
I'm opening a nice Zinfandel.

I just dealt with Baker Creek for the first time. It was an all round excellent experience and they went well beyond what I consider `normal' to source some seeds for me. They are certainly on my buy again list. Postage charges to Canada are fair.
