Standing in one spot for what seems like forever and staring at a damaged plant, worm turds everywhere, and still not being able to find the worm is frustrating to say the least.

With hope that my question was missed previously, I am re-posting it with further hope someone knows the answer.

Thanks,

Charley

Is it possible to mix Thuricide with Daconil and do one spraying instead of having to do 2 separate sprayings? It makes a difference with 260 plants.

Thanks,

Charley

May the hornworms rest in peace--in the middle of my wild birds' stomachs.

Follow the frass!

Found about 20 so far - my two kids go out daily - once or twice and collect them.

Chicken food - they LOVE hornwoms.

Charley,
I would look on the websites for both products or in the application instructions, etc. Many times there are instructions on mixing with other pesticides or warnings to NOT do it. If neither website mentions it, I would probably try calling and asking. I'm not sure I would try it without knowing for sure. Sorry, I wish I knew the answer.

Seems to me that I remember someone saying that Daconil shouldn't be mixed with anything else, Charley.

In the last 2 days we've found more than a dozen hornworms here, all 1" or less; and today the first fig beetles also showed up- we killed ~ a dozen. This year, for the first time, I've lost ~ a dozen tomatoes to bird peckings- from cherries to beefsteaks, both green and blushing, low to the ground and midway up a plant.

I did not see them yet, but few of my tomatoes did look suspicious. Not just leafs eaten, but on the green tomatoes just the right size of small circular bites that most likely made by the hornworms.
House Sparrows have being attacking my cucumbers. Picking on flowers and parts of small cucumbers for some time now. 15 or so of them just taking over my cucumber patch. They are not afraid of me at all. I do not see them looking for bugs...
I even started planning to spray my cukes with some HOT paper.

Yep, the hornworms hit me last week. Hours and hours starring at tomato plants, found 5 including one as big as my thumb. Rush over and load the sprayer with BT, and commence spraying 40+ plants down. There are two things I truly despise in my garden, hormworms and SVB. A few years ago we went on vacation and when we got back I walked out into the garden and cried. My tomato plants looked like someone took a shredder to them. I picked over 50 hornworms off 12 tomato plants.

I try to stay away from as much chemicals as possible in my garden, But with hornworms and SVB it's personal. I'll nuke them if I have to.

I appreciate all the posting on this subject. In the past seasons I have had my share of damage from these rascals but so far, nothing this year. In fact I have had little problem from critters. I have also had few honeybees and I mean few. Oh well, it could be worse.
