I don't see why old mix could lose its quality. I always keep what I have left in the original bag. If it is tied roperly there is no dampness lost, the mix is as good as new,

It was not tied, just folded over. But since I will have an abundance of seed starting mixl I will just toss the old stuff. My order from Amazon came today and I will have the late order from Garden Supply as well, whenever that finally arrives.
