Thank you, I used to have problems getting pollinators and good bugs into my garden, but not anymore. I do always over plant. I am just too greedy and want a lot of stuff in a little bit of space. Come another few weeks and I won't be able to walk down most of my rows, which always causes problems. Lorri D

Yes, it is probably more dense than most. I try every year to space correctly, but I always fail. I have never really planted in properly spaced rows. I used to dream of gardening before I ever had a place to do it. I bought garden books years before I had a garden. I decided I wanted to companion plant right from the get go. I love how it looks til mid August - September and then it is a jungle of things. I end up needing a machete to be able to walk down a path. Lorri D

Beautiful pictures! Too much growth is a great problem in this case. I really like the the way you used sunlight in the pictures.

That really is a gorgeous garden, Lorri. Thanks for showing us. Tell us too, if you would, how you made the slings for your melons. I'm about to need something link that. What kind of fabric, what shape is it, and how have you fastened it? Thanks!

Thank you Jon and bitterwort.

This is the first time I have had to sling anything too. I had some black tights on hand, so that is what I used. If I were to buy something, I would probably pick tights over nylons, because they don't "run" like nylons/panty hose. And, I'd pick a lighter color to let some light in. After I put the melon in it, I just ran a rope through it and tied it to the roof of my greenhouse. I know the melons I am growing will not get huge, so I made them a little on the small side. You can easily make them bigger for larger fruit. For something really big, I think an old T shirt would work well. Hope that helps, Lorri D
