This was my first foray into green when ripe varieties other than Green Zebra, and wow - instant winner. I'm surprised this tomato doesn't come up more often. Production hasn't been great, but the flavor was outstanding. And the seedlings always seem to be vigorous and outperformers. Does anybody else grow this regularly? Wondering where it ranks for you in terms of flavor and production? And any other similar GWR varieties?

One of Remy's (The Sample Seed Shop) favorites. My guess is that the name being sort of a "clunker" is the only reason it doesn't get more attention.

I grew this for a couple of years and loved the flavor. But other GWR varieties have produced better so I stopped. Maybe I’ll try again. My husband says the GWR are now his favorite so I’ll offer a variety next year and include this as well.

It's my favorite tomato full stop. It's productive enough that a few plants provide me with all the sandwich and fresh eating tomatoes I need. I don't use them for canning because well canned green tomatoes just don't look right. Every one I've introduced it too loves it after getting past the "but it's green" mentality.
