I have found 11 of the disgusting creatures in the past 2 days... but I don't want to kill them because I love those huge moths that they turn into.

I was wondering - do they eat any other plants? Can you relocate them, or do they find their way back? (I can move them several hundred feet away from the garden).

Or am I just being foolish, trying to keep them alive, but away from the garden?

I found 5...YES, 5 of these today quickly chewing their way through my Kosovo plants this morning!

The foliage was looking more spindly and thin than usual, and upon closer examiniation, there they were.

All 5 had the lovely wasp decorations adorning their green skins, so I picked them off my tomatoes and put them in the herb bed on the other side of the property....they are goners shortly, and I didn't want to kill the wasps.

I'd have squished without regret if they had no wasp pupae...and I think the moths are pretty too....but I love my tomatoes more.

I've never had a problem in the past, and now I've found 5 in one day...grrrrrrrr....

Last night I was out inspecting the patch. I saw some branches missing leaves and I thought, "hmmm what's up with that? Must be those darn raccoons. Oh my gawd what's that monster in my garden!" I jumped back! Really I've never seen one before! ugh

I was just out in the garden. I had picked about 14 hornworms off the plants over the last week, and have found more damage, but have been unable to find the worms

Out of the corner of my eye I saw something white, and, there it was, a thing of beauty, a getting-skinnier-by-the-minute hornworm with "many grains of rice" on its back!!

I was so excited I dragged my DH away from his LeMans Race on Speedvision, & took him down to the garden to see this wonder of nature! I garden organically, and it was a thrill to see the beneficials in action!

What do you do when the worms have the little wasp eggs on them, leave it alone and let them hatch??

Eggs-act-ally....matermama! Those are the eggs of more of the benefical insects to destroy more of the hornworms.

It's about how many of them can survive your treatment of them.
