Planting by Moon Phase

Ive recently done a little reading on the subject and wanted to know how others feel about this practice. The only thing I have left to plant this spring is okra and while I planned on the first week of April, moon favorable days are the 15th thru the 20th. Your thoughts?

I'm quite sure we went thru this exercise a couple of years ago but I will chime in.... My grandparents ( from Appalachia in WV & KY) planted "according to the signs" but I don't remember their gardens producing any better than their neighbors who planted "according to local weather conditions".

I'm also about to plant okra in the next few days. Not gonna wait. Nobody in the house eats okra. I'm growing these in appreciation for the neighbor who cut down a 40 foot tall tree without prompting.

She'll get some of the tomatoes and blackberries which were made possible by that gesture too.

Not a sign planter. My mother-in-law was but I saw no difference. Some plant potatoes around here on good Friday, but then good Friday can vary as much as a month so that doesn't really mean anything either. A lot of the old people plant according to the Old Farmer's Almanac and swear by it.
