Sounds like we are right about par. 50F in Wales. Cold in Newfoundland. April snow in Denver. 80s in Georgia. Midwest storms. And here in the freeze/thaw capital, my truck in the shop with leaking fuel line due to salt slush corrosion.

We ended up having a bunch of tornadoes around us this afternoon. At one point there were 6 tornadoes within 40 miles and I bet there were at least 10 during a 4 hour span. Plus lots of rain.

Can you hear thunder from 150 miles away? Yes you can. (150 miles = 241.402 km) Why can't the rest of the world use a real measuring system?

Indeed we did, and a lovely roast beef with that.

Then we let the 6 yr old go at the gong, while the rest of us were handed out bells to ring. And we took the bells and went out and ran around the garden ringing it out.

Nobody drives out winter like a 2 yr old and a 6 yr old.

The next day was beautiful of course, and we had a couple of days since that were close to 'normals' (highs topping 50 F) but there is snow in the forecast again this week.
And I am totally not complaining!!! because others have it so much worse.

A storm is slowly moving through. Some pepper plants are being damaged by high winds and heavy rain. It's nothing new, but still you don't like watching them being damaged.

I would have to say it is pretty normal for this time of the year. We have several bouts of spring thunderstorms and when conditions are right they often produce a tornado. Usually they aren't big ones, those are pretty scary.

Keep getting warnings of a serious blistering end of the world heat wave this summer.

Of course in the UK that equals to an Average April in Texas.

Got up this morning to wind chill temperature of 41 F. It has been drizzly and cool all of April and May so far. By Monday May 14 it should be warm enough to plant tomatoes and peppers.

We have now been in flood stage on the Missouri River just down the hill from me for nine weeks. Thanks Army Corps of Engineers. The river is still at seven miles wide and to get to the Interstate seven miles east of us and the town just east of us we need to drive 120 miles round trip. I-29 has finally opened but we will be cut off until at least January of 2020.

rained hard here yesterday evening and then it turned to snow. we ended up getting
a couple inches over night. back to rain most of the day today. the temp never got much above 36 degrees. it is very sloppy here right now.

Training heavy rain has been going on for 2 hours - the radar is showing it's far from over. I guess it's a good way to test out the container gardens vs in-ground gardening. I'm still trying to look at things positively, but ... we will see.

Fruit setting weather ended abruptly here about a week ago. Hot and humid now!
