Default Rhubarb

I have a Victoria rhubarb that is giving lots of stalks however none are turning red. I know not all are going to be crimson but I expect some red at the base. Am I crazy? Thanks in advance.

Victoria is an heirloom green rhubarb variety. They will be pink/red at the very base of the stalks but the majority of the length will be green. The upside is that the plants are very large and vigorous. if you want a pinker colour in your rhubarb dishes, add a handful of frozen raspberries or strawberries.

Karen,
Thank you very much, this is its 1st year of production (I did not harvest last year) and there are stalks aplenty. As for the pinker color my wife is Pa. Dutch and can do some serious strawberry rhubarb pies. Now that I know they are ready (4 weeks and about 2' across) I'm stopping on the way home for a quart of berries. Thanks again, the bride and I are grateful. Nick

Thanks for all the options. Charley your reaction is exactly why I skipped the day they taught sharing in kindergarten, too many out the door, I drool this time of year, rhubarb is out and 'matoes are almost in the garden. God really, really likes us this time of year.
