Default Pretty Peppers

I picked these peppers out of the main garden today. There are some Sungold, Mischka, Medovaya Kaplya, and Porter tomatoes mixed in. All 4 of those tomato varieties thrived well in the summer heat here. All four are on my must-grow every year list. Some of the peppers grew on stunted plants. I was too stubborn to pull them out of the garden and let them grow anyway. I'm going to turn all of them into chili powder.

The short red and brown peppers are stunted shi-shi-to.
The ruffled flat yellow peppers are P.A.S.S - or http://www.rareseeds.com/paradicsom/
and lots of others.

The second picture makes me think of the Rolling Stones.

Robert, Those yellow ruffled ones are so pretty. How do they taste, and are they hot at all?

Looks fantastic.
Take all the seeds you need and make one of the best fresh salsas you ever had.
With all of the tomatoes and chilies you are growing now you need to try and find a food processor if you dont have one.
I can guarantee you I have more than paid for mine by making my own salsa alone.

Sue, those have absolutely no heat - nor taste. But they look really nice and go well in a salad. They're crunchy, and they produce early and often. I do have seeds to offer in trade. I bought ours from the link above in post #1 and there are a lot of seeds in the pack.

Robert, those are some good-looking vegetables! I ordered some similar looking peppers to the ruffled yellow ones from Tatiana's for next year. They're called Doe Hill. And some flat ruffled red sweet pepper called Liebesapfel. If they're anywhere near as good as my beloved Sweet Cherry Stuffer hybrids, I won't have to buy anything from Burpee anymore. Fingers crossed!

Medovaya Kaplya is on my grow list for next year, too. It's about 40 degrees right now and it's supposed to freeze for the first this year around one AM. I had to pick any pepper or cherry with any color and bring them inside today, and my remaining plants with be dead tomorrow. Time to snuggle up with Tomatoville and my kitty and dream about next year!

Worth, we have a Black & Decker food processor that, I'm only guessing, is near 20 years old or so. It seems to have one speed "Pulverize dinosaur fossils" oh, and an on-off button. I would love to get a stand mixer, but we use a hand mixer that does the job.

I appreciate quality and buying it refurbished makes sense to me. My parents left this property to me and my brother. Until the past due property taxes are caught up from years ago, we're going to have to make due with what we have. That's a half year away in June 2016. Until then, everything is going to be extremely tight. I can see the rainbow because I helped make it.

I know, a little too deep and too much info, but life happens.

No worries brother it was put up just so you and others would have something to think about.
Just remember if you ever decide to go down that road click on outlet at their site.

To get my phone I had to call every day to see what they had because they didn't show everything on line.

Having health issues doesn't help either, does it? Still, congrats on the approaching date. It feels good when you finally get there.

I bookmarked Worth's site in case I'm ever feeling flush and domestic at the same time. I like refurbished stuff. It always has a good warranty and you feel good about saving money!

PS I like the pulverizing dinosaur bones part. You have a colorful way with words!

Those health issues are a pain in many different ways of looking at it. Picking things to do that bring positive feelings helps a lot. Some of those things are as obvious as growing peppers when living in Texas. Peppers are as close to a sure-fire crop here as it can get. So basically, I'm planning and planting for success.

And thank you

Robert, Thank you for all your "feel good" posts here at Tomatoville!, even though at times I suspect you aren't feeling that good. I admire that positive attitude you have. Shine on.

Dutch, thank you, and you're right.

Between 2000 and early 2010, I took the opposite approach to fighting the diseases. I did exactly as the pain specialists told me, took tons of pain meds, did absolutely nothing, and couldn't remember my wife's name. When I decided that wasn't living and chose to stop all the meds, my doctor told me to find a hobby. I chose gardening. My wife's name is Jan and I'm proud that I remember it.

That's why I try to be as positive as I can be.

Salt, I like what you say-all of your posts are a good read. Sounds like Jan got a good one ! Your name here is the same as my Salt- he's my 9 1/2 year old little boy rabbit, I've mentioned him before. I always look for your posts.

LOL, I am not really sure I want to give up a spot in my garden for them now. So much to choose from. They do look great though.
