Harvest pics

We're really enjoying Kosovo this season. Great balanced flavor, very meaty. Large fruits for an early-mid variety -- I've picked four fruits so far this season and all were around a lb. or more. Still plenty of developing fruits on the vine as well. I'll definitely be growing this one again.

Great pix!

I'm growing Kosovo for the first time. My plant is 5' tall and has a lot of blossoms. Unfortunately no fruit set yet. The branches are a bit droopier than my other plants. I understand this is typical for an Oxheart. I sure hope it's an early-mid type for me too!

(I'm changing the thread title to 'Harvest Pics...', because I want to post pics of other varieties as well, and don't want to start a bunch of threads to do so.) :wink:

Chris, Kosovo has been wispy, yet tentacle-like and vigorous for me (hope that makes sense). Plant seems to be holding up fairly well so far.

Glad some folks are enjoying the pictures. I'm just happy I finally figured out how to use my camera...

Here's Bordo. Good flavor and texture, similar in taste to most of the better dark varieties. Interesting russet/brown/dark coloration w/olive green shoulders. Very seedy and juicy. It sure is pretty when sliced. Not a big tomato - medium sized. I would grow it again.

Wow. You just had to share a pic of Cherokee Green. Mine just died yesterday. DH accidently smashed it when moving the fill dirt from my double dug beds. As far as greens are concerned, I still have Moldovan Green, Aunt Ruby's Gernan and Aunt Ruby's Green Cherry. MG and ARGC are both new to me this year. Opps. I almost forgot Grub's Mystery Green. I am sure that I will enjoy them all.

I grew Kosovo last year, growing it again this year, it's a great heart. If you can try Wes, it's as good or better than K, grown in my garden.

Hi, Earl -- on taste alone, I prefer Wes (Carolyn sent me a small sample of seed last year). Just keep forgetting to take some good pics of it sliced.

Well, there are pics of the fused Wes fruit I took.

I am still impressed at just how early Kosovo was for such large fruit. Wes took quite a bit longer, which is fine. Can't eat 'em all at once anyway.
