Drip Placement in 5gal
Does anyone know where I would place the hose that drips water into my 5gal tomato bucket?? Do I want to place it next to the stem, near the edge of the bucket, or just split the difference??

I haven't planted in buckets before. But, when we do projects with pots, we place the dripper half way between the edge and stem base. I prefer two emitters as I figure this is more symetrrical, one on each side of the plater. Hope that helps.

I wouldn't place an emitter too close to the stem because of possible fungal/rot issues. Bob's suggestion of halfway between edge and stem (plus two or more emitters depending on container size) seems reasonable to me.
One emitter for a 5 gal bucket should probably be fine, though. |
