Default Cherry Roma

Can Cherry Roma go in a cage?

I don't suppose it could go in a 3 gallon container?

I'm working on my garden plan, and of course I want to grow more plants than I have space and support for.

Cage maybe if it's a strong Texas type. 3 gallon bucket, I wouldn't. You would be baby sitting it and watering several times / day. It's way too big a plant for a container in my opinion.

Thanks very much Carol, I had it in my head that it was compact, but when I Googled, I couldn't find anything about that.....

No, not compact at all. Big and wild like so many cherry varieties.

I don't know... with pruning, anything can go in a cage.

And small-fruited varieties (pruned) are not so bad for cages.

I put everything in a cage. Plants grow up the cage, out over the top, and down the side. At some point you ought to put a stake down through the cage to keep it from falling over.
