Zone 6B Garden at 6 Weeks (pics)
Here is what my garden looks like today. I have a total of 18 tomato plants. You can't see the ones in containers in these pics. Weather has been extremely dry for the last 17 days but the soaker hose buried 16 inches under the garden's surface seems to have helped. I have watered twice in the last two weeks. This is highly unusual for my location since we usually have plenty of rain this time of year.
Some of the larger plants are now over 4 1/2 feet tall. Here are some Clear Pink Early. It has about 25 total so far. This, of course, is Stick. Looking down at Rose Quartz Multi-Flora. mater |

Now that's just depressing. . . some of us in zone 6 are just planting. . . or retrieving our sorry little plants from puddles of mud

harleysilo,
Perhaps someone will chime in with more information than I have. All I know is that Stick is some sort of mutant which does not have normal branches. The main stem does branch but the tomatoes form near the main stem. I am only growing it for the novelty since I have not seen any comments on it's excellence for eating. This is my first time to grow Stick. mater |

Mater,
I heard mixed results on taste. I think most folks grow it so when they have the friends over for a cookout they can get a beer and take them around the yard wowing them with the strange tomatoes they grow. I call it the "Tomato Tour" myself. You gotta have that beer or if they are very high class tomatoes maybe a glass of wine. Greg |

I usually like to include a complimentary shot of Wild Turkey Kentucky Spirit with my tomato tours… Sets the mood for the great show ahead. Some visitors opt to have more than just the complimentary shot, and you should see their faces when they see the green when ripe varieties.
Nice lookin maters there Mater! I really don’t think you should look down on RQM though. It’s a pretty good producer and tastes good for such a small fruit. Besides, it has a fragile ego and could begin dropping blossoms if it begins to sense your condescending gaze. Maybe crystals in your pocket will prevent the plant from picking up on your negative energy. RIK8)

Maybe crystals in your pocket will prevent the plant from picking up on your negative energy. " Ohh, crystals, with a C. Now maybe those dogs will quit attacking me. mater |
