Default Bell pepper plant pests?

Today I found TOMATO hornworms having a feast on the leaves of one of my bell pepper plants! The pepper plants are NOWHERE near the tomatos, which (so far) are pest free (knock on wood!) Anyone else ever seen this????

Oh yes! Last year I had some hot pepper plants on my deck - wasn't paying too much attention to them, but one day I noticed a plant seemed to be disappearing! I took a close look and saw balls of bright red poop....big fat green hormworm was chowing down on those ripe, red chili peppers! (I hope it hurt him/her more than it hurt me to lose the peppers!).

My main pepper pest issue is whatever gets into the fruit from the very bottom and makes the interior of my bells a mess, with brown streaks. Some sort of worm, I suppose.
