Default Big Thai Hot

By far my most productive hot pepper this year, well over 500 peppers from 4 plants. Shish!to peppers came in second.

Wonderful peppers. Where did you get the seeds?

I've been drying them in a dehydrator, then put them in canning jars... Looks like I need to buy more jars! I would say they are a bit hotter than cayenne or jalopenos,
and have a spicy taste to them. I've been frying the Shish!tos in olive oil, with sea salt and fresh ground pepper, very tasty! I also bagged a bunch of Shish!tos and froze them.

Big Thai Hot are Burpee seeds ( pretty sure it's a hybrid, but I'm going to save some seeds anyway)

Shish!to seeds came from Tomato Growers Supply

Shish!to peppers are Japenese frying peppers, supposedly every 20th pepper may have a little heat in it, but I haven't found a hot one yet.

Big Thai Hot is hotter than cayenne or jalopenos.

Sure! I would be intrerested in growing them next year. I think I have plenty of the
Original F1 seeds from Burpee, and millions of F2 seeds from this year if you would like to try some. I'll PM you. Thanks!

That's a cool, heads-up way to get seeds. I like it.

In past years, my Shish*tos have been invariably sweet, no heat at all. But it must depend on unknown growing conditions or stresses, because this year about half have at least a twinge, and some have more than a twinge, of heat to them. That hasn't stopped me from downing between a quart and a pint of them every day for lunch, though! Man, I like those things! BTW, my Padrons are consistently too hot for me to eat, almost all of them! When ripe and dried, though, they make a nice spicy powder.
