Electric Bumblebee II
Got my inspiration for this vibrator from our own "dcarch", hence the name. After searching for the parts locally, ebay and at work and a few PM's to dcarch I came up with BB II.
I wanted it so I could remove the extension rod/head from the flashlight body and thats where I got the idea after seeing the antenna w/BNC connector on ebay which I purchased. Was going with the paint brush head but after finding these brushes which came with my inhalers they were easier to attach to the tubing and the shaft diameter was perfect. Found the vibrators through google and cost was $1.50 Each. The cost was no where near dcarch's as BB II cost about $30.00 when finished. The flashlight and BNC antenna contributing to most of the cost. First picture completed unit partially extended. Second picture fully retracted. Third picture extension at 90 Deg. Forth and fifth picture with antenna extension/vibrator head removed and close up of vibrator head. It was a beautiful day here in Germany yesterday so I took a couple pictures outside and one with the sun shining on my rubber plant. Ami

Nice job Ami. What do you need it for? I suspect that I missed that part.

phreddy, it's a mechanical pollinator to increase fruit set. dcarch came up with the idea and I built mine from that idea. See link below. Ami

Well, unrelated from the vibrator, I just wanted to comment on the pictures of the scenery .... beautiful! What an idealic setting. And what about the weather - is that as-bad-as-it-gets for winter ('cause it looks ideal, as I stare out at the 8" of snow that has been here on & off for the past 3 months). What is your growing season like (sorry that I am uneducated to these details... )

Kim, this is the exception. The weather can be anything from rain, snow, wind you name it but always cold. Was -3 celcius this morning with freezing rain. We are your zone 7 here in the Pfalz.
Raymondo, so did I. But I like doing these kind of things and I couldn't reach all my blossoms with my electric toothbrush. Plus the BumbleBee II definately vibrates more than any electric toothbrush. Ami

Ami,
I enjoy your "scenery" pictures as much as your projects. Ray |

Yes Ami, It suddenly occured to me that your design would have excellent reach. It's a nice looking piece of equipment too. I bought a toothbrush because I'm totally inept when it comes to anything creative. Hats off to you.

I am writing from someone else's computer while traveling to Canada.
Very nice job. Yes, long reach is why I made mine. I stake my plants over 10' tall, and this is the only way I can reach the blossoms. dcarch
