and falling off. Nearly all of the ones near the bottom of the plants. I do have some new ones that are still green and this didnt happen at all last year. Any ideas?

What a drag. You think it is that other type of Okra your trying for the 1st time and to much water or rain. Have you pulled one plant and looked at the roots.

Spotted aphids on some of the newer still green buds, I had aphids last year on my okra plants but it was much later in the season. Need to get after them buggers right away. Im thinking some kind of soap spray maybe. What do you guys use on your okra plants for aphids?

Never had that problem with any kind of okra.
Never had to put anything on them.
How dark are the leaves.
Pictures please.

sorry the pic quality isnt very good.As you can see the plants look healthy overall, just the aphids are attacking the buds.

I have sprayed a combination of pyrethrin and neem and the aphids seem to be slowing down at least but the new leaves and buds are dropping off the plants. Not sure what the problem is or what to do. Suggestions?

I have never grown okra but what are the temps like for you right now? I've had many a tomato drop blossoms when it got too hot. Not sure okra would suffer the same type of thing or not.

I hate to see this and dont know what it is maybe an imbalance in the soil.

I can tell you that it is NOT hot weather as my LGV has always put out right up till frost.

I would agree Worth, not sure what the deal is but I am sure its not the variety or the weather. I am having a weird year here compared to last so I wont complain too bad.
