Hey Mark - pretty fruit...not sure if it is the way your camera captured color, but it looks like Cherokee Purple to me!

Yes, I know what you mean Craig...does not seem to have that dark crimson color that Chocolate is supposed to exhibit. Will have to see how others turn out. I can't remember right now if this was commercial seed or got it in a trade. In any case...as long as it takes like either...I will be happy

I think the plant is actually a Cherokee Purple...none have the color described by Craig...or the look as compared to some pictures (Victory Seeds picture).

In any event...I had a slice last night and it was delicious...so I am not complaining.

With a CC turning out to be a CP, I can understand that completely!
It's like, do you want a $20, or two $10s!

Lee...you got that right. My wife really liked this tomato...said it had a unique flavor...somewhat smokey is how she described it.

Next year I will get some Cherokee Chocolate from Victory Seeds and see how it compares.

Only problem with this plant is that those darn tree rats like it too...came out and they had eaten a beautiful specimen that was just about ready to pick.
