Default Coffee Beans

It's time to restock coffee beans...
I like a strong dark roast... Death Wish Coffee is awsum, but it's $20/lb.
Going a little cheaper this year... Nalpalm and Kicking Horse "Grizzly Claw"...
Any coffee recommendations out there?

This stuff is amazing, plain and simple:

Coffee Bean Direct - Dark Brazilian Santos - Whole beans - $40 for 5 lb bag

Me too a big coffee fan of dark roasted beans.

Here are some of my favourites from well-known European coffee companies.

Keurig Dark Magic. Or if you want a very good coffee for a little less money, Seattle's Best Henry's Blend. Both dark roasts, but not not really over the top like Starbucks French Roast. Need decaf? Starbucks Sumatra Decaf ($) is the best I've found. Note: I'm a coffee snob, but a thrifty coffee snob.

Well, I have a fellow vendor at my market who roasts coffee and sell it. It is some of the best coffee I have found. it is the JBC (just brew coffe) guy. I don't know what it would cost to ship it but I buy it every time I need more coffee, he charges 12.00 a pound for it. Contact him at justbrewcoffee@gmail.com .you can buy it ground or as whole bean. shoot him an email and ask about shipping. if it is too expensive for shipping ( shipping is outrageous sometimes) let me know and I will run a box to the post office to see what actual cost would be to ship a few pounds. or I can just send you a bag to try it, too. but it has to be today or in about 3 weeks. I am leaving tomorrow morning for a couple weeks.

I don't have a lot of options for buying whole bean coffee at my local stores, especially in larger bags. I usually get 8 O'Clock, but I do like Pablo's Pride from Sam's Club better. I just tried Hill Brothers, and it is not bad at all.

Peet's Major Dickinson Blend from Costco - $14 for a two pound bag. A one pound bag at the cheapest grocery store is $9.

We don't buy a lot from Costco, but what we do is for less than what we would pay elsewhere, and the annual savings on the coffee alone covers the cost of our membership.

Yes! Really great coffee. First had it in San Fran. I'll have to check Costco next time I'm there. Thanks for the info!

Another vote for Löfberg's. it's one of the best supermarket ones. Small specialty shops have various beans and if I want relly dark, I get some of them.

Home roasting coffee is a wonderful hobby and spoils you forever - I've been roasting all of our coffee since 2007 using the SAME 20 dollar stainless steel whirlypop. You can choose the country of origin or roast - it takes about 15 minutes to roast 8-10 ounces of beans.

www.sweetmarias.com - very informative site, great service and quality.

Wow! $40 for 12oz of beans... I drank a lot of it when I was in Jamaica and a lot of Red Stripe beer.
