help building tomato cages!
Didn't realize there was a thread for how to build tomato cages.
I've seen the idea of building tomato cages from concrete reinforcement wire. ?What gauge wire should be used? What should the length (height) of the cages be? I'll be using determinate varieties of tomatoes (slicers, cherries/grapes, and paste). Determinate varieties are 'vigorous' ('sprawling') or 'compact'. They are supposed to be very sturdy. Unfortunately I can't find a list of materials and the written instructions to build them online. If possible, I'd prefer written instructions with photos; mainly so I can print it out to have it to refer back to. I'm NOT good at building things, so the simpler/easier the better. To stake mine I had access to 1/2 and 3/4 rebar 5 ft long. I drive this in the ground around 18 inches and zip tie the cage to the rebar in 3 places. it works great
