Giving up on blue tomatoes?
I can't seem to grow blue tomatoes well.
I had some luck with Indigo Rose, but they take so long to ripen which takes effort to keep the pests off, and I need to leave them even longer to taste good, by then they are too soft. Otherwise they seems to be very disease prone, I tried Indigo Apple, Black Beauty and Cosmic Eclipse and they are all very sick. I have some Blue Beauty seeds, but not sure it's worth the effort. |

Last year I bought an Indigo Rose plant. I was surprise as how early and productive it was.
It kept fruiting til last days of season. I did not have any pest or disease issue with it . I found out that when the fruit color turns peach color it is ripe. You can also do a "feel" test. Ripe tomatoes should feel slightly soft. I am grow IR and Indigo Apple this year. Gardeneer |
