Default cross between zapotec and tiny tim

Our tomato friend, Glenn Parker in New Zealand has a cross that I thought some of you might be interested in hearing about. Its called Hobbitt, and its a cross between Tiny Tim and Zapotec. I am growing it now, and its just in the seedling stage. Its rugose and dwarf or at least very very compact. Its a cute little critter.

Here is a current photo of where it is right now in my glasshouse.

Hi Michael,
Is it stabilised yet?
Agreed, it does look cute. Some people tend to look down at Tiny TIm, but I think everyone needs atleast one indestructable plant in their garden!!!

Jeff-Email from Glenn yesterday told me the following:

"Pleased you have sent Andrey Hobbit. It appears to be fully stable now. Have a lot of them growing. A nice small pink. Feel free to spread it around."

So thats what I know.

Beautiful small golfball sized round pink tomato. Taken since 2002 to stabilize but it has finally this year. 2ft high and spread, bush tomato. Rugose foliage. As Michael said it is a Tiny Tim x Zapotec cross.
This spring was the worst for 60 years on our coast of New Zealand. So bad that Early Girl that was sown on 27th May last year and planted out in August only fruited 3 weeks ago.
Hobbit was sown a lot later but just thrived in comparison. Still going to try and keep selecting fruit to see if I can get the plant a bit smaller but the 40 or so plants are all identical.
Called Hobbit because of Peter Jacksons Lord of the Rings movies being made over here.
Almost called it Bilbo Baggens but somehow it didn't sound right.

Have one plant of Tiny Tim x Yellow Stuffer that is showing good potential. Very tight rugose foliage on a small plant. Fruit still green so it's still a mystery. All it's brothers and sisters so far have yellow fruit and the sole F1 last year had that I saved from was red.

Love that rugose foliage, fat and wrinkly - a very attractive little plant Michael.
