Newbie Question on Buying

Hello all. I apologize for the newbie question. I've searched the site and haven't had much luck with this particular topic, so here goes. I'm a tomato lover and a not-very-accomplished gardener. I grow plants each year here in Southern CT, get them from a very nice lady with a few varieties, but I am really looking for some unusual heirlooms with big flavor. I found a few sites via Google that ship plants, but I'm loathe to try them without comment. Are there any good sites that will mail me plants that anyone can recommend?

Again, sorry for posting such a newbie question, but I don't have the time (or ability) to grow from seed and I'm looking for a little help.

You could ask the nice lady if she would take a special request. She might be willing,(especialy if you supplied the seeds). It's very hard for a tomato grower to pass on free seeds. At any rate, it never hurts to ask.

Dave, stick around long enough and you'll be starting your own seeds in no time! Then the real madness will set in, and you'll be tilling up your backyard and boring your family to tears talking tomatoes! Then you'll HAVE to visit here often, b/c no one else will tolerate your obsession (and obsession LOVES company!)

But seriously....welcome! Good luck with whatever varieties you end up with

I'm supposed to be redoing it, with input from the Moderators, but just haven't done it yet for many reasons.

But the URL's are there for all the places mentioned here, and I can't remember if it was mentioned above but Territorial also sells plants.

Compare plant prices and shipping costs before you order, b'c they vary tremendously.

I can see how one can become obsessed with this. I checked out selected leaf yesterday and my jaw is on the floor reading about the varieties I can grow.

I tried some Brandywines last year and I had my share of problems with them but the ones I harvested were amazing. I'm going to read up and try for a better crop this year.
