Wow! I am indeed impressed with the plants and GH! You did a great job with everything! Thank you for giving us such detailed information/pictures on your succesfull growing of tomatoes..Your tomatoes are huge! The plants are healthy !
The trellis system for the four gallon pots is something I am interested in doing this year..I have extra tomato plants growing in four gallon pots, and this gives me visual idea..I grew some extra tomatoes in 4 gallon pot's last year, and found the roots escaped the bottom of the pot and grew into the ground soil..I did not trellis them or trim them so they were pretty wild.

What type Brandywine?= Just Brandywine.

glad my info helps others and gives them ideas.

I put shade cloth on the greenhouse yesterday. I had bought a used shade cloth from a greenhouse business that was going out of business.. They did not know what percent of shade it was. It looks like 40 percent. I rather use 30 percent on the tomato house but we shall see what 40 does.
The shade cloth is 28x100

This is what it looks like inside the greenhouse with the shade cloth on. Still nicely bright in there.

There has been many times that I just sit in there and have my coffee with a few cherry tomatoes for breakfast reading a gardening book or making plans for the fall and spring and how I would change things.
By mid day, I am ready for some heavy shade.

I order my Brandywine in bulk from

I have always grown the Brandywine from seed and from that company.
Most all of the first blooms on the Brandywine are megablooms.

I have not supported my large clusters of tomatoes and I had a whole cluster
of large Brandywine to break off from the vine.

It had one very large fruit on it but
not my largest. Wish I had a few of those plastic truss supports. I think they are at

I have a few Brandywine ripening right now. (not the largest)

I have some early signs of blight. Been removing those leaves and I have to spray for it.
The plants need to last at least another 8 weeks.

That is what the LSU Ag center told me to use after they performed my soil test.
