I haven't tried raised beds, but I bet it would be less work. Lets us know how it works out for you!

He I am container less. Raised beds with a few containers left to add to the raised beds for soil.

All beds are Western red cedar.

Those are nice. I built some similar, but redwood over soil, and then the LIVING redwoods got them. Since they were built from redwood, I guess I had that coming.

If it works for you, absolutely, go for it.
We have grown all our toms (about 70 varieties within a few years) in containers, and in good years, many have been loaded with fruit. Even in not so good years, the amounts have been considerate - and the taste, yum! I cannot imagine what the results would be in an open field or raised bed, as it simply isn't an option for us.
I just get tired when people try to tell that 'growing in a container can never be as good as in the ground'... Based on what I have read here (and elsewhere), growing in the ground is NOT a guarantee for success. There are no automatic guarantees in gardening.
So glad for the different methods for different situations
