One thing thats nice
Through all of this, fighting the climate and bugs and hot and rain and all that, here in my opinion, is what makes this really nice, and makes you glad you do it.
Many customers bring their kids to the market. I sell a lot of the cherry varieties, put them together as salad/snacking tomatoes. So all the sudden, moms tell me that since they got some of these they are now the kids favorite snacks, from ages 3 to 10 or so. They bring their friends, and go crazy with this. What a neat deal, snacking on this stuff instead of the usual garbage. In my real life I am a coach and trainer, and this is just great stuff. Very nice. Just passing it on, of course you have to make a little profit to stay there, but when its tough out there this is kind of a nice deal to look forward to. |

I bet all those moms at the market are very grateful to you! Kids won't do what parents tell them, but if they see another kid doing something... well that's different!
My son, who is 7, will eat anything that he grows or picks himself in the garden, and he loves tomatoes. He had a friend over yesterday that said she didn't like tomatoes, but I plan to have them available every time she comes over, and her mom wants some... just as soon as some of mine ripen! Little Mary will see my son eating them, and who knows? |

Cool stuff guys thanks, so much of what I see in coaching is the epidemic of childhood obesety, it really gets me riled up and sad at the same time, but the kids just dont know.
Funny note, a little 1 and a half or so year old today tried a Sungold, and kept going, it was great. I think he's hooked! |

That is a great post.
A friend of mine said that his ten year old son was for some reason fascinated with the idea of growing plants for food. They never had a garden, so I gave him a container cherry tomato plant and my buddy said his boy watered the plant, had a lot of fun with it, and then ate the tomatoes. He now wants to grow his own tomatoes every year. I seem to have gotten him hooked at a young age. |
