Fruit set on multifloras, despite last weeks 104° average
First time growing Rev Michael Keyes and Rebel Alliance, here in CA we've started summer with a pretty intense heatwave, so I was quite happy to see that some tomatoes are fruiting.
Rev Michael Keyes I hope leaf curl on the bottom is just from all the heat. Rebel Alliance |

Wow! Nice plant.
Leaf curl and droop can indeed be the result of heat and sun. If the leaf takes too much sun, the moisture transport mechanism can't keep up with the demand, and the leaf loses turgor and droops or curls. Which causes the leaf to take less sun and radiant heat. The tell is in the evening when the sun is gone or oblique. If there is water available to the roots, turgor should return with full vigor.[sorry] So how does it look in the evening?

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with how well they've maintained with all this heat. I'll check and see how they look tonight, great explanation of leaf curl, cool to see how plants have evolved to deal with the sun.

That is a megatruss if I've ever seen one! Thus the name. Impressive!

Thanks, Marsha had a pretty nice seed offer this year and when she mentioned multifloras, they sounded pretty interesting. Love learning about all the varieties I never knew existed here.
