Only 30ish in the ground in there. The rest will have to wait till warmer weather. For Now. Gears are turning on a way to "greenhouse" the left side...hmmm. I am thinking 3 post on each end spaced apart appropriately (thank god for spell check) and run a cable, which i happen to have, in between the ends. and put plastic over it. the only problem I think i have is weighing down the ends...In the planning stages...

Looking nice. I'm late this year, but I can't wait to actually get tomatoes in the ground.

I have been extremely busy the last month and a half and haven't logged in here for a while. But here is how i am progressing so far

I am somewhere around 340 tomato plants, some zucchini, green and yellow. Some bell peppers cucumbers and green beans. I am planting more cucumbers today and some cantaloupe.

This what I did yesterday, that was a 16' trailer full of wood chips. I am guessing I need 3 to 4 more

More plants

More plants

And even More Plants!

Tilled this up yesterday for the cantaloupe

And here they come!

That was a Charger, but I am also seeing some on my Rutgers.

I took the greenhouse down and burnt it. It was starting to get week after 4 years of being put up and taking down and sitting out in the weather all year. This winter I will build me a new, bigger one, out of treated lumber and leave it up.

I concur with Lisa, plus an additional comment. Documenting the process and productivity will help with next year's crop plan.

I'm with you, Worth. Additionally, what the heck do you do with all those tomatoes? It's not a smart *%% question. Seriously, what do you do with the large quantities? Do you sell them at a farmer's market? I'd thought of doing that myself next year.

By the way, you have a wonderful garden!

Your garden looks great! It looks to be even larger than last years. You sure have been busy and it shows. Your August harvest should be amazing.
How much are you charging this year for your tomatoes?

Hi my name is Tim, and I am a workaholic. ( lol AA meeting joke)
after I get home from work and on my days off i spend all my time in the garden improving. It is a problem for me cause my mind and body just are not getting along anymore. Mind says work but body says else-wise. but i figure it out.
Anyway....Lexus, I sell them at a stand at the end of my driveway. flip thru this and you can see last year.

JmhmmRn Ohh its going to be great!

MissS I start out at $2.00/lb but as supply and demand falls so do the prices.

Worth, thanks for the Red Rocket Suggestion. And the seeds! I will send you picts of the off spring when I can.

To everyone else.. Thanks... I do what I can, If only I didn't need 6 to 8 hours of sleep a nite...

I thought I may share this here also. ( I put this on a different thread also) I went to the local newspaper and picked the but end of the rolls of paper for $5 a piece. A heck of a lot easier and faster then putting down a few sheets at a time!

What a great idea to get those rolls. Sure beats trying to hold down each page as you go along. This way you can just roll it on.

OMG! it makes it so much easier and faster!, Cant believe I spent the last 3 or 4 years bent over putting down newspaper.. I unroll two rolls and pull them up against the plants on each side of the rows. then unroll 2 more down the middle, overlapping the other 2. So for the most part its 4 layers thick for 2 ft of the 5 ft between rows.,
