User Name & Password
I got a popup this morning asking for my user name and password for here at Tomatoville. I didn't input anything. Eventually, I got here normally. Has this happened to anyone else?

I noticed it only happens when I click on an added link to a past thread in a post.
Then I just go back to the 'bookmark' and all is fine. |

When I visit with the iPad I need to sign in. The desktop, which is the main computer, never asks for user/pass.

I entered by my new laptop tonight. It did not recognize me. so I had to log in.
I think if you erase cookies from your computer then you will have to login. or if you logout by mistake the next time you have to login. there might be other reasons too.

Gardeneer has it right. Your sign-in is tied to keeping the cookie on your computer.

This computer has been acting oddly. I've ran Malwarebytes several times and it always says nothing is wrong. The computer didn't come with a windows 7 disc, so I can't wipe it and start with a new installation.

Salt, try running 'check disk' at startup. Also clear all of your cookies by cleaning your cache. If that does not work, RKill is a great program to find bugs in your system.

Malwarebytes may have cleared your cookies which means that you will have to login again but if the remember me box is checked, you will only have to do it once.
I cleared all of my cookies yesterday and had to login the first time this morning but after that it was automatic. |

Hey salt, you're not alone, just happened to me for first time for probably a year on this windows 7 machine. I would suggest something on website side or very strange coincidence.

Windows 7 here too, and it just happened again. All I had to do was start typing my user name and it remembered all the rest. I think it might have to do with a recent windows update.?.
