I have a lot of trouble with Sharpie markers fading out by the end of the season, on both wood and plastic. What do you use and a place to buy, please.

I use a Brother PTouch label maker. I put the label on a plastic garden/nursery indentification tag. They lasted all last season.

use the paint markers, not ink markers. Home Depot and Walmart have them and Im sure you can get paint markers of all kinds at Staples too. Keep in mind, this IS permanent and wont wash off, but it wont fade in the summer sun either.

Printer ink and paper, 24 point font, Times New Roman. I made these last year. Everyone told me they would fade - they didn't.

When I asked that question, someone told me to try Testors paint markers. I bought one off of Amazon but haven't had a chance to use it yet.

I also like the Artline Garden Marker. I use it on plastic labels and it doesn't fade through the season.

Just get the Sharpie eXtreme, they are UV fade resistant and have no problems with fading for at least one season. They are right next to the regular sharpies in most Walmart or office supply stores. I have been using them for the past 2 or 3 years with good results.

I second the Sharpie eXtreme. I use it on plastic plant markers when they're seedlings and also on the plant ID markers on tomato cages. I buy a heavier plastic school folder, cut them into about 1"x3" pieces, attach them by punching a hole on one end and tie onto the cages with sandwich ties.

Yes, and the plastic will crumble before the market wears off.
