Ginger, yeah, setting all instead of dropping under stress is a trait I always look for. With a multiflora it's different, they must drop some to grow what is already so many. But it's always a treat to see a plant really load up with fruit.. especially when you know they're gonna be tasty!

One of my KARMA pinks. The other is in my raised beds. I wanted to try two different locations to see which was best. I have the opposite weather problem from Bower. An initial 40 degree cold snap right after plant out, then came several hail storms. Now we are in a heat wave. It should get to 100 today after a week straight of 92-95 degree days. So far it's the 12th hottest summer on record. And here she is...flowers on trusses. KARMA is weathering the intense heat. No fruit yet on either plant but I continue to hope!

Thanks Karen and Marsha for this beauty. It may not be full and lush like Doug's plant (WOW Doug!) but it's hardy for sure.

Looks like they are trying to recover from the darkness l treatment which we dont endorse
I think it`s time to get them planted, they need some real light and it is almost the middle of June so hopefully it is warm enough. They are quite early so if you can get them hardened off and growing outside in good well fertilized conditions there should be lots of time to get fruit from them before fall. it will be a story of survival if they do, please keep us updated!

My own KARMA collection. Leaf roll in protest of unprotected night time temp consistently below 10 for 2 weeks but blooming and setting regardless. Supposed to warm up nicely next week so they should be able to stretch out and take off running.

Beautiful flowers of Karma Pink. Nice, tight anther cones- which explains why my plant has almost 100% pollination rate. No external buzzing needed for these beauties!

I have a couple of almost ripe fruit on my Karma Pink. The truss has one split and all have dings from hail, but I'm encouraged!

That's great Charley. I am advising folks to pick at first blush and let them ripen on the countertop to avoid the splitting. They are very thin skinned.
Let the tasting begin!

Default Huge KARMA Pink

When I planted my KARMA Pink, I wasn't sure how large it would get. I used a regular 54" heavy cage. That was a mistake. It has gone way over the top and down again. I can stretch out some of the longest vines and get to almost 8 feet. With all of our early heat and humidity, many of my plants have Early Blight or Gray Mold. KARMA Pink has been great in resisting the diseases. It's also my only plant with blooms still on it. All of the other ones lost all their blooms in the heat.

That glob of green vines in the middle of the big red circle is the KARMA Pink.

Thank you so much Lee for the update and photos! Pleased to see it big as a house setting in the heat and holding up to disease pressure in your area. Have you had any ripe yet?

Karen,

Lot's of ripe ones.....at least 30 or more. With tons more still to go. They are delicious. I've had no problems with cracking, also. I've seen that mentioned by Marsha a couple of times, I think. No issues with that on mine.

Great to hear that Lee. Thank you. I think the cracking is an environmental thing. Cooler temps and rain, high morning humidity here during my season. Thought it was better to warn folks than not.
Really happy to hear that you think they are delicious. Out of 109 varieties I grew, they were in the top 5 for taste.
