This years Shannon's are HUGE!!

I guess it pays to plant out early. Because of extra warm temps I planted out 2 weeks early, and had great cool temps which I'm guessing had something to do with it.
Anyway, 4 plants are producing monsters! I grow her every year for decades as my paste tomato buy have never seen quite the collection of extra large ones. Sure, an occasional big one but all four plants have jumbo fruit on them.
I'll save seeds from 2 of them...the others go to sauce and fresh eating!

Wow, those look beautiful. I found an old post of yours with pics of ripe Shannon's and they look meaty and absolutely delicious! Bet they do make wonderful sauce. I also saw that you have offered seeds for them in the past. How could I go about getting seeds for this variety to try? Thank you so much for sharing the beautiful pics of your Shannon's.

We didn't have rain here in Charlotte for 24 days, and a good amount of heat. Now that it's raining, I'm hoping they plump up even more! I hope...

The first ones are starting to turn!! 🤓🤓🤓
Might pick it tonight because the birds have been in the garden pecking a few.
These aren't the big ones but nice size none the less!!

Picked these this morning. Wanted to pick them to avoid splitting after yesterday's rain. These are much bigger than usual. The smaller ones are usual size. There are still a few more extra large ones in the plants. Will definetly save seeds from one or more of the big ones.

Here are few pics of the haul. The ones on the left are usual size. Then they just get bigger! Biggest one was 14 1/2 oz!
My best year for them maybe ever. Never had them this big!

Those are beautiful! Can't wait to try them and I hope they grow that well here in Alabama. Do you have a pic of them cut open? Just wondering how meaty they are.
