ATTN: Walmart Shoppers, Pro-Mix is on aisle 9

I stopped at Wally World for a 72 cell tray and happen to see Pro-Mix still wrapped sitting on pallets. So me being me I cut the plastic and bought a bale. $16.98 for 2 CuFt and expands to 4CuFt.

Pro-Mix makes so many mixes but this seems like it's a good all around mix. What mix does everybody else use?

That is a good deal, $4 per expanded cu-ft. . But I am not doing much container planting this year. Maybe some ornamental peppers and few compact Det. tomatoes. I have 4.5 cu-ft of (compressed ) peat moss, bag of floor dry and I will gey a bag of pine bar muck ($3.50 for 2 cu-ft ) I bought the peat moss at Tractor supply on clearance, last fall, $4.50 / 2.2 cu-ft bale.

I used Promix Bx, $28 for 3.8 cu.ft. compressed bale, expands to 7 cu.ft. fluffed according to their webpage. I didn't measure it.

Works great in Earthbox and City Picker self-watering containers.

That is a good deal. I pay $3.50/cubic ft, but I have to add mycos; it doesn't come with any.

I worked with three of these guys in a cabinet shop.
Jesus Allyon, Raul Ybarra AKA Rata (Rat) he is the one that told me the joke and Barney Allyon (Barnabas) Jesus's brother.
Good lord it has been around 30 some odd years and I remember their names.
I went to a party in East Austin to celebrate Rat's nieces quinceañera (Fifteen Year old) and his father in law passed out standing up with his head in a barrel of beer and ice.

That's a good price. All of the ProMix stuff is good, this looks to be they're marketing equivalent to Miracle-Gro Potting Mix. It's pre-charged with ferts, that's different than the commercial mixes HP or BX. It would certainly retain more moisture than HP/high-porosity, not sure about BX.

Rajun, I was ecstatic until I saw the Aqua friendly circle on the package. I hope it isn't like the dreaded moisture control soup. Maybe its possible to pick out the little blobs of polymer if the mix is dry.

Its fsar too early for wally to put up the greenhouse in the parking lot here.We still have snow. I tried looking on their website which is dreadful with inventory. If you still have it, could you please post the product number on your receipt. thx

I don't understand the hate for MGMC, last year it was great here but I did notice that some stores keep it outside and I always buy a dry bag. A week or so ago 1 of the Walmart stores(we have 4 here) had it for $7 then I went to get more and it was $14. Today at a different Walmart it was $7.14.

Here's the barcode and the receipt. All of the soil is outside so I grab the barcode and then go inside to pay, they can scan it like a product. Put it on your phone and have them scan it, it should come up regardless if it's in the store. I may be wrong but I would think all of the new products are loaded into the database.

I had to drive to Austin to get the last of my stainless kettle collection.

All the big stores are the same, in that they hardly ever keep the same items very long in their inventory and on shelves. I bought some flooring tiles at Menard's once - they had a big end cap display of one product. Then I went back two weeks later and asked for more of the same thing, and the employees were like "are you kidding? That was two weeks ago, man," as if it had been two decades and not two weeks.
